This thing looks fantastic. But...a hood mounted charging port sounds like the stupidest thing ever. That poor cable...and that poor paint.

Tell him that Adelson left $50 for him in his will if he did so, and there’ll be an executive order out within the hour!

Love it when you talk (to me?) like that!

Your garage just keeps sounding more interesting each time I hear a tidbit about it. At current count (and I’m starting to feel like a stalker) I believe you have a 128i convertible, E91 6mt, and a 5 speed disco? Kinja oppo is no more for you to create a piece about your stable within this platform, but have you made

Just the other day got in to a back and forth with one of our regular friendson the hyphen about how my thoughts on these things were clearly a stereotype from someone who hasn’t experienced recent JLR products.

Color me impressed. Never thought I’d be anything close to a GM fanboi, yet here I am. Two EVs in (2016 Spark EV and currently 2020 Bolt) I’ve been happy with their offerings in terms of value for money. With this upcoming product lineup they’re clearly continuing to build on that.

But do they sell organic brazil nut milk and lox individually wrapped in gold leaf? My newfound wealth shall accept nothing less.

Should’ve! My NIO stocks are up 1,896%!

Fair enough, I don’t usually get in to leasing - my two EVs have been the only instances I’ve delved in to the model, and wouldn’t really do it any other way given where things are at right now.

Wow, that’s surprisingly crazy. Interesting tidbit to remember when buying a pre-owned PHEV to see how much ICE/EV split it’s had in its lifetime. I’m honestly not sure which I’d prefer more of as a second owner? Probably more EV drives? Less wear on the ICE engine, and battery probably wasn’t left in a pretty depleted

Yup, also it’s generally a better idea to reduce the upfront down payment as much as possible - since that is money that is no longer yours no matter what. So for example, if you paid $5k down and pay $400 a month - that car is actually costing you a lot more than $400 a month, AND if you wreck the car the day after

Kind of disagree on the leasing piece as well. If the calculation for the depreciation is accurate - then actually you’re even compared to buying a car and selling it after that same amount of time (assuming you intend to change cars).

Does this actually happen? I can’t imagine someone paying the premium for a PHEV and then not taking advantage of the cost benefits of just plugging in at home and maximizing EV functionality. From a fleet perspective maybe that happens sometimes - but hopefully only until these companies figure out the on-site

Absolutely agree. I am having serious regrets about signing on to my Bolt lease (especially now with WFH and how little driving I do) - on any given day I use only a tiny fraction of its battery capacity, the rest is just dead weight. For long roadtrips we have an ICE car anyway (which we are planning on replacing

Thank you for providing a nuanced explanation to this often-used excuse that while factually true is severely misleading.

Official response from Subaru: No worries, it was a BReeZe.

I get what you mean...but honestly, the grammar is too good. Perhaps its Tucker Carlson?

Exactly what I was thinking. Maybe keep about $100M for myself - should be plenty to live a life of absolute luxury right? Am I being too greedy? I feel like I am.

I just can’t get myself to love these Delicas. The older gens feel a bit better built but there’s a bad plastic fantastic feel to the interior of this vehicle. The Delica is probably the most famous probably because of Mitsubishi’s 4x4 lineage and other vehicles that shared a lot of this same architecture.

Somewhat common in Japanese vans of the era. My family had a 4x4 Mazda Bongo when I was growing up which also had comfy recliner seats in the back, with the 1st back row swiveling like that so the two seats could be facing each other.
