The Boxster and Corvette were both designed as convertibles first and coupes second. The E46 was a sedan and coupe platform with convertible options tacked on (or the top hacked off). I'm assuming that in order to maintain structural rigidity the E46 had to have a considerable amount of weight added to it.

5000 miles is the cutoff in PA. I got an emissions exemption last year because of that.

I was starred on Gizmodo about 5 years ago, but then started trolling people and got banned by Jason Chen. Fun times.

The import issue has never been about safety, it's always been about corporate power over congress in the United States.

Every time that Chris Harris reviews cars with the ZF 8-speed auto found in most new cars, he gives it high marks. It sucks that you can't row your own, but at this point what are you expecting in a wagon? I agree that BMW should have given us a manual though.

I don't think that was the point of the Caddy vs Germans post. Cadillac doesn't have the brand power that BMW, Mercedes, and Audi do, regardless of how good/great current Cadillacs are.

Yes, you can try out any car at any time in a game with a true free play mode, but you don't own the car and you can't make any progress using that car. Taking out free race for all of the cars in the game makes no sense.

I see that I've spotted a fellow Penn Stater. Sheetz vs Wawa arguments abound.

As someone with an E39 that has a busted rear window regulator, I have to respectfully disagree. The buffeting is insane without another window open.

This is one of the many facets of research and development. What do you think goes into the research component? Automobiles wouldn't be as good as they are today if every single automotive manufacturer came up with their own ideas on how to develop a car and did not look outside of their own products for inspiration.

I'm pretty sure that's only because Fox News specifically tailors content to fit into your worldview (and by extension, their narrative). Take off the Koch-colored glasses.

His points were inane at best to begin with. This is badge-whoring at its finest.

Or, "[t]hanks Obama!"

I'd have to disagree with #7. Most, if not all, Lamborghini owners are pretty bad in my book. They had the money for something more understated/capable, but decided to look like a terrible douchebag instead. They're glorified Audis with fancy badgework.

Here's my first car, sorry for the shitty pic, but that's how it sits. It's a 1999 BMW 540i/6 with no AC. The car is ridiculously fun to drive and hasn't given me too many issues during my three years of ownership with the exception of a pinhole leak in the plastic radiator that required a full replacement.

Sweet color combo.

The majority of June is in Spring.
