That’s the funny, thing, legally they can do it. Long ago they were taken to court over the exact practice of selling opened new games that they gut as “new” even though they have no shrink wrap (gutting a game was opening game, taking disc out, putting it in a sleeve, filing it away, and then putting box out on floor…

They actually stopped doing that. They got rid of the shrink wrap machines cause of cost and instead went with gigantic clear circular stickers that leave mad residue on the box if you take it off. I know cause I was working there when they were going through that transition.
