I’m going to have to go and buy this book... I’ll admit, I lean towards Abnett and McNeil books for my 40k fix and hadn’t really heard about this book before. Going to have to remedy that!

True, but hydraulic fluid has coolers and a higher ignition point than wood does. Very much with you on the unpredictable failure modes!

Because wood has this funny tendency to catch fire more often than aluminum. Also it’s heavier. Also it’s a natural material that’s less predictable in its properties than the materials used in modern airplanes.

My wife is of Filipino descent, even though she was born in Chicago. Ever since Trump’s rise to power I’ve been afraid she’d get treated like this. Or someday my kids will. Thankfully, that hasn’t happened yet and people around here are great for the most part but I can’t help but worry about it.
