Hi, since I’m seeing lots of talk about whether the headline/image are a spoiler, here’s my thinking on that: it’s only a spoiler if you look at Lev being trans as something that’s meant to be a surprise or some kind of dramatic reveal. Years upon years of trans storylines have taught us this (think: The Crying Game,

I really need Sony to give specifics on PSVR/backwards compatibility moving into the PS5 era. I’ve read that PSVR will be compatible with PS5, but will all the PSVR games be compatible? Will there be a new version of PSVR that runs better? I want PSVR, but I don’t want to buy it and find out a new version is coming a

I don’t own any VR equipment but I find it super interesting. But I’ve been confused for a while how it seems that for many games, VR has become synonymous with motion control which seems very weird to me. Those are two separate things though so I don’t quite get why they keep getting mashed together. Like, I get

I bought a PSVR in 2017,

Stories about streamers are more fun if you’ve never heard of the person, so you can just bask in the absurdity of their regular name being combined with their doofy handle without any familiarity getting in the way. It’s always something like ‘Bradley “PizzaWalrus” Wickendorf,’ or ‘Christopher “Ultrafetish” Jenkins.’

You can’t even escape it if you’re trying. I come to Kotaku to read and talk about actual video games. But like a car crash or a dead body, I see this Twitch/YouTube/”influencer” “celebrity” crap and I gawk at it even as I hate myself for doing so.

Any time I see a list of famous streamers I’m forced to rethink my definition of the word famous.

I 2nd this 100%

My guess is someone went directly to Twitch, or the incident occurred behind the velvet rope at a Twitch event.

better late than never.

At the risk of putting two and two together, the guy famously cheated on his wife and the past week has seen a lot of streamers being accused of sexual assault and harassment, so my hunch is there may have been more accusations levelled against him to Twitch.

Said it before, I’ll say it again.

One of the most exhausting things in video game culture these days (in addition to all the bad stuff that is not new) is just “keeping track of who all these inexplicably famous twitch people are”.

Maybe Twitch has finally realized that the platform is big enough that it doesn’t need to indulge individual celebrity assholes to survive.

That’s what’s bugging me about this. Guinness seems to be undervaluing the actual emulator and prioritizing the eyewitness testimony, which from what I know is basically the exact opposite of what they should be doing

I’m not really arguing, but that means you have to question pretty much every generic procedural on TV since they all make a habit of killing off a young, pretty woman before the opening credits.

This is weird to me, because why would so many production companies cover for a DP on a show that’s not really known for groundbreaking visuals? How hard could it be to replace a DP on a show that had its house style locked from the pilot?

The Excorcist succeeds in the same way as its predecessor, Rosemary’s Baby (1968) and its successor, The Omen (1976). All three movies are based in ancient Catholic demonic lore, but none require the audience to believe it; the terror comes from the fact that Rosemary, Chris MacNeil, and the Thornes came from a place
