RDJ used to go on talk shows ragging on the original script for IRON MAN, saying that he and Favreau would go to a trailer every day and just rewrite all of it.

I hope he shows up as a cat-person, actually.

“Quibi” is a brand name I just want to punch in the face. It’s so twee and stupid and sounds like a failed dotcom from the early-Aughts.

It really hasn’t!  I can respect that those three movies are the work of one artist with a vision for the arc of that trilogy... but there’s a LOT of really cringey stuff that’s hard to overlook.

“compared to the previous films” is the key part of BUMBLEBEE’s critical praise.

The logic in these horror premises can really kill them. IMHO, “Get Out” works a lot better because it’s all happening in this small town. The fact that “Us” is supposed to be worldwide (or at least nation-wide?) raises all sorts of logistical questions.

Yes. Also, we don’t break into song when it rains, either, but that’s how musicals work.

I didn’t hate it but I was disappointed by TROS — like a lot of people, it seems. I won’t relitigate what I think is wrong with it because I think that subject’s EXCEPTIONALLY exhausted. It is what it is.

It was my understanding that this was actually a passion project of RDJ’s. The guy is not hurting for money. Unless he tries to build a Deathstar, he and his kids probably never have to work another day in their lives.

One of the weird things about the sequel trilogy is that I really like almost all the characters but feel like they weren’t utilized in the best way for the larger story.

Gen X here. Grew up loving big teevees. It’s crazy to me that I can now buy a massive, gorgeous television for a fraction of the price that I paid for the phone I carry with me everywhere.

I just rewatched the prequels last month.  They’ve gotta do something with Jar Jar’s speech pattern.  I just find him hard to understand without subtitles.

Growing up, Zemeckis was one of my favorite directors. Like, I’m excited and lined up for whatever he’s directing. Which is weird, now, how a movie like “ALLIED” will come and go in theaters and I won’t even realize that he directed it. (“THE WALK” is, imho, entirely forgettable. Inferior to the documentary that…

I remember seeing it in theaters opening weekend.  Directed by Mimi Leder who was coming off of directing some big E.R. episodes at the time.  I thought the movie looked totally generic at the time and was bored to tears watching it.

I was hoping they’d get Clooney back as the Peacemaker...
