Just watched the new MUMMY and woof... io9 wasn’t kidding. It’s *bad*, and not in a good Michael Jackson sort of way. I was fighting to stay awake. How the hell did this get made in this state?

Spider-Man has a pretty specific look. Even when they’ve rebooted the movies, it still basically looks like Spider-Man. Figure Hell Boy will be similar.

I wouldn’t think it’d be a matter of him *seeking* credit. But the hand-off has been so public already, I wonder if the DGA would require some special credit.

I’m wondering, will Joss Whedon get a co-directing credit for this movie? I know there are weird DGA rules with that whole thing.

I hope it’s actually the PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE that’s being added.

Hated the end of LOST. Loved the end of THE LEFTOVERS.

The response should be a significant vindication for Jenkins and will just help immensely when she faces other creative battles down the line.

I had the SegaScope Glasses, it looked AMAZING back in the day!

Yeah, in the end, I don’t think they gained anything narratively by having the new team exist in a world where they originate the GHOSTBUSTERS brand. Especially since most of the original cast came by to cameo anyway. Because it wasn’t a direct sequel, it felt less like a passing of the baton and more like trying to

We’ve got to see what she does through WWII but I’d like to see her during the time frame of the original 70s teevee show, riding skateboards. Invisible jet.

I’m sure it’s not the only thing that’s tied up the rights, but I feel like it’s probably a part of it.

Agreed. Even the original HBO series had a hard time getting that tone right. There were some good episodes but, like most anthology series, there were many bad eps. BLACK MIRROR is the one modern anthology series that’s got a really strong hit-ratio, IMHO.

I watched a player hide under a bed for about seven minutes.

There’s a dearth of female composers, too:

I really loved “YOU’RE NEXT” and really liked “THE GUEST”.

The Rock-A-Fire Explosion has been alive and well for awhile...

I used Mike Myers’s mouth from “Cat in the Hat” to make the mouths on this!

Gummi Bears! Here and there and everywhere!!!

can’t wait to see the gritty reboot!

For a few dollars more, they fill it with real live rats and turtles!
