I think the reasoning some people bring it up is that it is useful outside of the ps5. Say I decide to add an ssd to my ps5, if I ever decide to upgrade again or get rid of my ps5, I can throw the ssd in my pc and use it. The xbox drive has no utility outside of being in an xbox.
