I don’t understand the praise for Tirico at all. Sure he’s good compared to Chris Collinsworth or Phil Simms, but that isn’t saying much.

Tirico was the only sufferable part of ESPN when he was there. I’m happy to see that Sunday night football won’t be a total wreck. Now if we can just get collinsworthless to die off.

Guess they can’t find a booster seat in Pyeongchang.

Oakley’s Wikipedia page at the moment:

Who the fuck does James Dolan think he is with “we hope he gets some help soon.” Oak is a fucking legend and Dolan is a fucking joke. This organization is a dumpster fire. I’d rather see Trump own the Knicks.

In this scenario, it becomes possible for a pitcher to lose a perfect game.

Because extra innings are exciting. Also, they tend to go more quickly anyway since the managers are running out of pitching options and less likely to make changes. (I don’t actually have statistical proof regarding the latter point, but I think it’s a decent assumption.)

Couple thoughts:

Because most extra inning games end within an inning or two anyway and a very small portion of games actually go to extra innings so it is kinda pointless.

Wait, there are people that like baseball but don’t like watching a position player have to pitch? How else am I supposed to see a 1B/OF/DH strike out Adrian Gonzalez then induce a game-winning double play in the bottom of the 17th by the other teams OF who pitched the last 2 innings. 17 inning games are part of the

they are not the same thing, one is extra-gimmicky, and the other is a only a bit gimmicky.

Rob Manfred

I’m usually a pretty chill person, but God help us all the day the NL institutes a dh. I will burn this all to the ground. The difference between the AL and NL is the only thing that is holy.

so in the 17th inning is that a passed ball or a wild pitch?

“the only problem with it”

Also a no here.

Counterpoint:

This is the complete wrong thing to do.

Baseball gets the most exciting at the end of close games, no need to ruin the need for clutch plays and nail biting moments.

Boo these men.

Fuck off with this shit. The problem is 9-inning games are taking too long. Everyone already knows extra inning games take a long time. Let’s use our brains.
