My guess? Both Marvel and Sony put a freeze on standalone Spidey movies. Peter gets to show up in movies involving the Sony villains and in whatever phase whatever movies involve multiversal events. It’s enough to get both parties through the short term and evaluate their positions in a few years.

I’m the exact opposite. I have a moving window that stretches from the middle of the month until just before Thanksgiving. I moved across the country a year ago, and this current move is going to be me and my partner’s step right into the heart of the city after lingering in the suburbs.

That sounds a little too spooky and scary for Marvel’s audience. The wolves becoming men is cool and all, but I could see them becoming squeamish about the whole boys becoming men part.
