Wait. Ryan Murphy is making an origin story for Nurse Ratchet?

Just wait unti she reveals her guns for body pillows federal trade-in program.

The Big Skate lobby has held significant political sway for decades but have never held the war of yhe president.

I don’t know about that. Sajak has made some really bonkers right wing political comments on Twitter.

From the way they’ve been describing Stargirl, it sounds like it could be planning to spin-off a JSA series or even essentially become a JSA series that just has Stargirl in the lead.

Mario Maker! When I was a kid, the original Super Mario Bros. was my first introduction to video games. My dad worked in tech, so we had all sorts of computers and old machines laying around the house, and I went from spending all of my time messing around with a primitive drawing app on the family computer to playing

I’d assume by digging into the code but can't say for sure.

Exactly. Create a block of marble, and then chip away everything that doesn’t need to be there.

Yeah. I think most peoples’ frame of reference for Spider-Man is young adulthood, post high school (and usually, I’d say, post-college). The Daily Bugle, the balance of making a living vs. playing superhero, and the difficulty of maintaining an adult relationship are the real through lines I see as being archetypal to

There is no implied chronological meaning to the use of “similar to” here. He’s speaking about why Spider-Man appeals to Japanese fans, so he’s comparing it to a popular character that was born out of Japanese culture.

He’s not saying that Japanese fans like Spider-Man because Spider-Man reminds them of Kamen Rider.

We can find you a safe space if you’d like.

I think Punisher is a very problematic character, obviously in how people in the real world fetishize him, but the comics also have to walk a careful line in glorifying him. There’s not a great track record there, and maybe the low light was the Punisher Armory. I feel like he’s a character who probably shouldn’t be

ffs there are some bad takes here. There are plenty of bad remakes. But whenever a remake is announced with a female lead (or leads), why are we out here griping like the act of casting women in the roles is the problem? And it’s not like we’ve had a lot of those. There’s what, Ghostbusters and What Men Want?

Besides

Marketing stunts are generally intended to drive up sales or awareness, yeah, but they’re capable of being creative, and they don’t need to be associated directly 1:1 with sales. This move will create buzz which will push sales and draw in the speculator market in droves. This doesn’t change the content of a book.

I have no particular attachment to One Direction, but this seems weirdly intrusive. I could see it from Adult Swim, but otherwise... weird... They could have gotten a similar effect with fictional characters right?

My point isn’t that “some people will be shocked and other people won’t”. It’s that the impact will inevitably be pretty damn minimal, and the greatest benefactors here will be speculators.

Plenty of stories have twists, and some of them are great. But yeah. A stunt driven by marketing rather than the content of the story is absolutely some P.T. Barnum shit.

and it was shitty and stunt driven. the end, I guess?

So, uh, who is this really for? Sure, it’s a “surprise” ending.

People who regularly read comics blogs and news sites will have that sweet 24 hour Christmas window to be excited about it. People who don’t, and had the good sense to preorder, will have the joy of hearing about it as soon as they step into the store. And

All I can tell you is that I have multiple retailers for friends on social media, and my Facebook wall just blew up. Is it really worth it?
