The problem is that criteria makes no sense. What do you think of as a “mass shooting”? To me, and I suspect most people, it means indiscriminate killing with some type of reasonable qualifiers on the “mass” part (e.g. a shooter that takes four or more lives as per the FBI definition and carried out by a lone shooter…

Don’t know where that number came from, but the definition becoming more common is at least four injuries brought by a gun and the current number is 354.
