I used to load aircraft at PHL back in the early ‘90s.
Way back in 1974, I had a Datsun pickup. My friends and I used to spend most every weekend on or near the Buffalo River in NW Arkansas. So, this late winter day, I wanted to show my new girlfriend the sites. This time of the year, when things are melting, it’s fun to go there as the huge ice flows are falling off of…
Based on generations of experience, country club heads should be the least of anyone’s concern. ND
I worked as a valet in college for 3 years. It’s really not that hard once you learn the technique. it allowed us to jump into any car and park it very quickly by backing in without adjusting the seat or the steering wheel. only occasionally we’d adjust a passenger mirror since that was the primary tool used when…
If it’s angled, then I’m a big fan of back in/pull out. When you stop in the right spot to then back up, you’ve got a good view of what’s behind you (mirrors, backup camera, over your shoulder. And when you pull out, you see oncoming traffic over your left shoulder.
Saw this article and figured it would wind up here. Failed to quote the absolute best line of the article, though:
Having watched people at work try to back out of a spot, and I backing in every day for years. I have much less trouble backing in than they do backing out.
So the spots are angled for easy backing in and they still can’t manage? Sigh.
The spots are angled near 40 degrees or so, making it fairly easy to back in. The only issue is if you don’t signal beforehand and the car behind you comes too close to let you reverse. (Or if you do signal beforehand but the car behind you is an idiot.) I think the idea is that since these are usually on the side of…
In real estate it's always smart to buy the cheapest house in the nicest neighborhood. That might apply here. NP
He tried to explain to the GOP how they had misunderstood the song, but they couldn’t hear him over “YMCA,” “Rockin’ in the Free World,” and “Fortunate Son.”
Mississippi’s “School To Prison Pipeline System” is in full force here. Bringing law enforcement into minor situations that need no law enforcement intervention will lead to dire consequences for the child, like a permanent arrest record that will last for years.
My question is why a bunch of other officers showed up? I mean, I’m assuming the initial officer didn’t request backup just because he saw a 10 year old taking a leak.
So the response to “Child needs services” is to arrest the child. Got it, make perfect sense.
Haha, thank you stranger. I will also forever associate these cars with Motley Crüe. My friend’s reckless and wild older sister had recently gotten her license and came to pick us up from somewhere. They lived in a subdivision near the city limits accessed by a long and hilly road, and there was a particular hill she…
I liked it better than the T-Bird cousin of same era.
If you do a lot of printing, the ones where you can refill the tanks are pretty much it (or laserjet), otherwise I think they all do it. Especially when you realize that a cartridge may only contain a teaspoon of ink.
As the car does more of the actual driving, the car is also going to potentially have some of the blame. This is why Tesla nor anyone else will likely never, ever have full hands-off driving. If they didn’t at that point the car owns 100% of the blame for an accident, and now Tesla is shouldering the liability.
