grave of the fireflies is the only movie to make me really cry. the episode of futurama with fry’s dog, if you know the one, is the only tv show to ever make me cry.
i don’t actually think it’s the scarier or trippier parts of spirited away that make it not the best choice for kids, but it’s its slower pacing. my experience with my kids is that, when they’re little, they roll with whacked out crazy shit like it’s nothing.
kiki’s delivery service is my favorite miyazaki movie, and i’m a grown-ass man.

when i was a kid, playing my genesis, a friend of mine told me about doom, and this is what i imagined. also, it’s kind of amazing that i can’t think of another first person robotron offhand. maybe that’s just a failure on my part though.
