Hopefully its better than the Blade Runner anime that’s currently running, which is pretty dire unfortunately.

Is Snake Plissken on this train?
Idk that I’d call ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ a “sad-sack dramedy.” It’s very fun and funny, and I don’t think is any heavier than your typical rom-com. I love that movie, so maybe I’m missing something, but I’ve never thought of it that way.
Just finished Chloe Gong’s “These Violent Delights” which is a reimagining of Romeo and Juliet set in 1920s Shanghai, where a violent plague is sweeping across the city. The sequel is set to come out this month. I’m currently palate cleansing with Ben Cohen’s “The Hot Hand” which is a fun look at the science behind…
The Predator was so so bad. Shane Black’s Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Nice Guys seem way more his speed as a director/writer and not so much the big budget fare.
I love “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World” more than most, so this has a steep uphill climb to claim “best Keira Knightley movie about the end of the world” for me.
You can tell this book is fiction because people still care about theatre post-pandemic. (I say this as a theatre producer and teacher)
Very excited for the prospect of RDJ doing some capital “A” Acting again.
I was really into Tech N9ne in high school (15 years ago). Seen him live a few times. He always put on a good show and is fun to try and keep up with. I always found him uneven content-wise, but good for him for blowing up some.
Thank god indeed. There have been a lot of great series I’ve gotten into in the intervening years, but boy have I missed Saga.
Gaspar Noe is the one filmmaker I refuse to ever watch another film by. People often use the phrase “throw the book across the room” when talking about reading, but I literally threw the DVD of Irreversible across the room (you can guess when). Then I tried to watch Enter the Void. I didn’t throw it because it was…
I cannot tell you how refreshing it was to have these stories almost all told without any tie-ins, cameos from other characters we know, or a new addition to an existing story. They just made some Star Wars. Every episode can just be judged on its own merit and not how it ties into the cinematic universe or the canon.…
My wife and I LOVED Thundercats Roar so we will be all in on this biz.
I read a version of the screenplay that was floating around the interwebs years ago, and it was... confusing?
I also like Twixt a bunch! It’s a strangely personal film for Coppola which he executes in a Lynchian fashion and features the last leading performance we’re likely to ever get from Val Kilmer. I wish we could’ve seen the live editing he was talking about doing at least once. Or made the DVD a choose your own…
This will hold me over until the Wandering Earth sequel.
*some spoilers*
Alien 3 is my second favorite in the franchise, but I would be loathe to describe it as “fun”
I like Elysium quite a bit, myself, but know I’m very much in the minority. And the less said about Chappie the better.
I envy people like my wife who have no idea what “canon” means and have never been burdened by a second thought about it.
