Important to note that VW doesn’t have an official fix yet, at least not one that has been accepted by EPA and CARB. I’d hold off to see what that fix is/what the detriment to performance and fuel economy is, specifically.
People with 6-figure car money are often those who are wealthy enough to live in the city (aka they don’t have to drive from the suburbs). If they do drive in from the suburbs, they likely have a reserved space in a garage either attached to their office tower or close by.
You probably shouldn’t use the word “will” with such wild abandon, when writing about a settlement which has not been accepted by the other party or parties (aka DOJ, EPA, CARB) yet.
Not hating, I’m sure it’s a perfectly capable and affordable alternative to a hot hatch.

My mom had a 4th-gen, with the manual. Great car. But when it came time for her to replace it in 2006, she couldn’t get a manual Maxima in the color she wanted. So she switched to Honda, a V6 manual Accord sedan (a combination of options which is also now dead)
