Sonic Boom the cartoon is simply an Eggman delivery system, for my tastes. Everything without him in it falls flat on its arse, but he's a great comedic foil- top marks to his voice actor, too.

I like the little fan theory that all Diamonds are fusions, and Pink Diamond was the fusion of Rose and the Bismuth bubbled in Lion's mane.

…It was mainly a joke, in fairness to myself. Considering this is apparently a Cartoon Network decision, though, going on hiatus a handful of episodes before the mid-season finale and halfway through a story arc IS weird.

Seriously, what a weird place this is to have a hiatus. We're halfway through a story arc here! Take some of that time that Teen Titans Go is hogging and give it to Steven.

Eh, Sadie's Song wasn't that long ago. It definitely raised the game, though- I expect the next song to be a heart-rending drag spectacular. Don't let me down, Crewniverse!

Yeah, that's fair- it's not like we needed a Very Special Lesson at the end or anything. I do wonder if Amethyst's occasional lack of tact coupled with Peridot's revelation that she should be outranking the other two is going to come back and bite her, though.

Nah, she's colossally ignorant and tactless, but she's definitely trying. Marks for that, at least, and she seems to be moving past her original preconceptions.

All it did was encourage her, though- hence her moving on to Steven and Amethyst in turn. Steven was clearly uncomfortable with Peridot's roasting of him, but Amethyst kept egging her on anyway.

I dunno, I still think Steven fusing with another Gem is endgame, if it ever happens at all. Steven's connection with Peridot is just how he is with everyone he befriends- I bet he'll manage to build a similar connection to Jasper at some point down the road, and he already has done so with Lapis.

It's going to be the Robot. I'd place my life savings on it.

I guess I don't have so much of a problem with Peridot saying that stuff (she's ignorant, and learning) but Amethyst laughing her arse off at Peridot trashing Garnet's entire existence really grated on me. Come on, you know that's not cool Amethyst! Steven had the right of it, though.

I suspect we're going to have another Stevenbomb after this hiatus. We're about four episodes out from the mid-season finale, which would fit nicely on a Thursday in much the same way The Return/Jailbreak did.

An Amethyst/Peridot fusion surely cannot be too far down the line. What a personality THAT'S going to have.
