To be fair, Lord Wyndemere appeared late in Brittain's SNL career. He was already on his second season.

They were uninspired this episode, but overall they considerably improved this season. Were people in love with Seth Meyers when he began on WU ? I'm sure they weren't, but he still remained the anchor for eight years or something.

Ha, you first wrote Ricki and the Flash, then corrected yourself. That means you had to count twice ! You were committed and I thank you for that.

By the way, for people who miss vintage PJ Harvey : Shannon Wright is still making great, uncompromising albums. Her last one, In Film Sound, might be her angriest. She's my go-to counter-example to the common trajectory you describe.

It's 'Newswire', with a capital N.

I'm not commenting right now…
Wait a minute… Dammit !

Oh, I know the feeling ! I'm happy Trent Reznor seems in a happy emotional place right now, hanging out with David Fincher and juggling with his Oscar and Golden Globe. But I miss angsty Trent Reznor.

Angsty PJ is gone, but the newer, softer PJ is still pretty amazing, to me. White Chalk might be my favorite album of her, and Let England Shake is really really solid.

Fuck your story, I was expecting a happy ending the likes of "It completely changed his point of view and he is now a big defender of LGBT rights"

I really really liked Dheepan too, except maybe the very end (the ending credits, basically). It created a weird tonal shift in comparison to what preceded.

Do you rank all the 250 movies ? Maybe just the top 100 ?

Upvoted purely because of the absence of Fury Road. That movie appearing on basically every list frustrates me and makes me want to slap myself for missing it.

The obsolescence of my list knows no gender restriction ! :)

I put Hard to be a god in my "too alien to put on my list". But I enjoyed it. I think…

And a "Hurray for Tangerine" for you too !
Edit : Oh, and for Cheatin'. It was one of my favorite films from last year…

Hurray for Tangerine !

Here goes nothing…
As usual, there're some entries that will seem "sooo 2014, dude" for you American guys.
1) Birdman (A. Inarritu)
2) Inside Out (P. Docter)
3) Green Room (J. Saulnier)
4) Foxcatcher (B. Miller)
5) Tangerine (S. Baker)
6) Magical Girl (C. Vermut)
7) The Wakhan Front (C. Cogitore)
8) The Invitation (K. Kusama)
9)

OK, here's mine. A more aptly title for it would be "worst movies/biggest disappointments of the year". Some of them hold their own, but just didn't do anything for me. I stumbled into very few shitty movies this year…
There're some obscure festival flicks on it too. Hopefully, they won't be realeased any wider…

Maybe Ferrell visited his pals at 30 Rock on Saturday morning, and Lorne was like "Since you're here, fancy a little cold opening ? Quicks, writers, give him some funny G.W. lines !"
