I actually think it makes sense to have them available but not having the whole game built around them like the current legendaries of the generation. Also, they’re making our connections to them important again to the story. Just receiving a code to get a mythical isn’t fun, but the way the legendaries tie to the

...and yet Nintendo made most of those Zelda staples skippable or avoidable in BotW for the first time. The fact the last game was a huge departure for a then stale series brings hope that it can depart even further from it’s traditions. It’s obviously not guaranteed, but it’s also not impossible

.....but she’s just a fucking cartoon, goddamnit, I’m too old for this late capitalism shit

It’s supposed to be, I guess. In this parade context, she’s probably singing the theme song from her samba school for that year, and god knows what the hell it’s about. Could be an emotional sentence about genocide or the destruction of the environment.

I had no idea someone could mistake samba for flamenco but the internet always amazes me. (Btw men also dance samba, even though Quaquaval does seem to have the dancing stance of someone in heels)

That’s the whole point and everyone’s missing it: Quaquaval is also a samba dancer. His name ending in “aval” is probably a nod to Carnaval. They actually nailed the battle animation (running around, not so much)

They also released dubbed versions, and the Brazilian voice actor (who has also done Pratt in projects like Guardians and Jurassic World) is definitely trying to do more of an Italian accent. That’s probably because we wouldn’t have an equivalent to a Brooklyn accent here, and Italian is a super common heritage that ha

Also, the feminine word for “past” is “passada”, so Sada, just like Turo, is just the shortened word, not the entire word like the article implies. (When actually talking about time, the masculine word would be used instead: “passado”, but, well, Sado would sound very masculine and also, you know.... Other meanings.

It's Professor Turo, with an R, short for "futuro" (future). "Tudo" is also a word, but it means "everything", so, you know, a very different meaning

This thread is getting better and better

The Chinese DLC was totally the same game, but I’m so used to greek myths that an entirely unknown (to me) mythology felt very refreshing, so I think it’s worth it just for that

In 2001 I was 11, playing Pokémon Gold on a Game Boy with an English-Portuguese dictionary by my side (a PHYSICAL dictionary). Pokémon and Zelda have literally teacher me English. Having something you are interested/curious about is amazing to learn a new language.

I heard there’s a bug lacking the Portuguese language on Switch, and I try to play most things in my native language hoping that some Nintendo algorithm is keeping track of it and they’ll finally translate a Zelda, a Pokémon or a mainline Mario... Someday...

100% with you on that one. I couldn’t stand the episode but the lip sync was golden

I actually thought he was a neo-nazi type ready to enlist Marshall to some militia or something so I was glad to be way off

I mean, yeah, but that's pushing it a little. It clearly got too big and became it's own thing. They did say at some point that they kept having ideas for DLC and just decided to make a full sequel instead, which makes a lot of sense.

The settlers aren’t just from Kanto, they’re from many different regions. Professor Laventon is from Galar, the guy from the shiny Ponyta quest mentions that his friend from Galar was surprised to see Ponyta’s flames in Hisui (it’s Psychic in Galar) and one of the guys in the Farm mention that people in Kanto are used

I don't wanna rain in anyone's parade as I also do prefer purple Rapidash and I hope it stays, but the reveal trailer for this game showed a blue-ish Rhyhorn and a lot of people started discussing if it was a new form. I just think the greys are a little blue in this art style.

I probably still have nightmares with Kaepora Gaebora...

Damn now I want one :/
