All of the synthetic and bio fuels are, at best, stopgaps and niches. They’ll be used for stuff like classic cars, long-distance airplanes, etc, but new cars will probably go all-battery.

Not just those. Wood gas was a think during war here in Finland. Regular gas powered cars, but wood is gasified by heat and that’s fed into engine. There’s even one el camino that’s owned by our previous prime minister that’s powered by wood gas.

Scaling this fuel would be ridiculous and unfeasible, which is the issue ethanol ran into with corn-based fuels. You end up having to cultivate more arable land for fuel than for food and you either end up with no food or no land. The energy expenditures required to turn uncultivated land into fuel-supporting farmland…

I would fill up with it, I would even be willing to pay a little extra for a carbon neutral fuel.
