The US is no Somalia. But it is no Canada, Sweden, New Zealand, Germany or one of the other developed countries either. It is kind of in between. A rather flawed democracy. A rich developing country.

It’s merely a one off, based on a production ICE vehicle. I’m sure they’ll integrate it differently in a next gen dedicated EV production vehicle.
Exactly. I have zero problema with manually adjustable seat to be honest. It is only annoying when you share a car with someone who is much shorter/taller than you. Even then, the annoyance is not the *manual* adjustment, but the adjustment itself.
Or perhaps, you think something a little more humble like Citroen has, in fact, made more great cars.
I agree. I respect it for what it is. Very much so, especially now with the manual transmission.
For $300k I can buy a huge barn full of interesting cars. Why limit it to just two?
A 28mpg HYBRID sedan being released in 2023 should not exist.

Many people have already been vaccinated and infected. They are taking a calculated risk, a very limited risk (to their own health) at that. They don’t want to put their lives on hold any longer.
Well, they have to be installed physically in the car to allow BMW to enable them.
In Europe, trailers tend to have their own brakes. Unless when these trailers are of the tiny variety with a maximum allowed weight (trailer + load) of 1500 lbs or so. Not in 100% of cases, but typically.
Here in Germany you even see the regular sedan Audi 80 B4 (and B3!) as regular old cars, without classic status. Cockroaches, well protected to rust and simple, cheap and reliable mechanicals. They are an exception though, you really don’t see that many 90s cars on the road any more. French, American and Japanese cars…
In Europe, the tow rating on that 318i is 1400 kg (almost 3100 lbs), assuming a trailer with its own brakes and a maximum towing speed of 100 kmh (62 mph). The weight on the tow hook is different in Europe too, compared to the US.
Each EU BMW is almost unique in their mix of options.
I shipped a car (an E30 touring incidentally) a few years ago from Germany to someone in Texas. I don’t recall the actual costs, but I believe it was less than $1k. The US bureaucracy will eat up some of your dollars and time as well though.
Related to sports; we separate sports for men and women due to the difference in their physique. Male professional athletes tend to be physically stronger than female professional athletes. The extra physical strength makes competition between men and women in most professional sports unfair.
The tow hitch is normal in Europe. I agree with your other red flags though.
Just looked in Germany. I looked for 5 minutes and found a little gem.
The Germans turned it into a decent car too.
