Why not replace the truck with something that isn’t as large? She can then use that as a backup, and you can keep commuting in something you like.

Automatics have been objectively superior for a while now, although I won’t say it’s been decades. Maybe one decade. Still though, who coasts in neutral or revs at stop lights? That makes no sense.

My wife can drive stick just fine. All our cars have a stick. Most of all because I owned all of them before we got married. Neither of us commute to work by car, so I can keep cars for a longer period of time.

I guess it’s just the concept car shenanigans. If/when they introduce the production version it will look more ‘normal’. And to be honest, I quite like some of the design cues in this concept.

It's a concept, and it's typically sold in markets that require a front plate. So I doubt you'll see the giant Renault lettering in real life.

Of course it does, when it's done right. The gun control on an airplane certainly works.

I moved to Germany a while back. I don’t really recognize what you wrote. It is always clear to me how fast I’m allowed to go. There are default speed limits for every type of road, which do not need to be displayed as they are default. Only when the speed limit is different than the default it needs to be displayed.

Is that an iPhone he’s holding? That probably makes him American.

Unlike some of the people here, I do get nuance. And thus get your point.

Me too. But a real one from the 60s, not one of these rebadged Asian E-mopeds.

Most of them. Only the smallest ones aren’t, if I’m not mistaken.

Most of the crossovers in that picture aren’t available in the US either.

And don’t forget Audi

True, but I am talking about Germany. Germans only drive German cars, they don’t typically drive foreign cars like Renaults. If I recall correctly, non-Germanic brands only cover 1/3 of the market.

I currently live in Germany of all places, and even here I see more Renault Zoes than VW ID3/4 vehicles.

Also don’t forget proper home insulation. Which can reduce heating/cooling costs (and emissions) by a huge percentage. It’s the 13% in your graph.

This is exactly what they are doing though. A manufacturer has to hit a specific average carbon emission threshold, and for every gram it emits over this threshold the manufacturer needs to pay a fine. A carbon tax.

The Golf and the Atlas use the same platform. So it should be almost plug and play.

Taller and heavier than a hatchback. With a shorter cargo area than a wagon.

The charging infrastructure will come. Not tomorrow, but ‘soon’. I guess the US will lag behind other markets, but it will happen there as well.
