Same thing with the new Nissan Z, the new Subaru BRZ, and so on. Too ‘dirty’. Soon, there will only be new plugin hybrid and EV crossovers/hatches/wagons available in Europe. Whether we like it or not.

As long as the US is a lax with fuel economy and carbon emissions standards as it has been since... forever, there is no reason for Jeep to cancel the 2-door Wrangler for the US.

Because the 4-door is available as a hybrid only, which has lower emissions than the non-hybrid available in other markets. The 2-door has no hybrid version available and is ‘dirtier’ than the hybrid 4-door. Hence, no more 2-door.

I would analyse it in this way:

I used to use these iconic late 1980s Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 alloys as winter wheels on my 2000 Peugeot 406 coupe.

True. A typical example is that the Brits still use parts of the imperial system, which should have been retired over a century ago.

Right. I'd also add low weight and great visibility.

Getting 29 mpg is not stellar, but it isn’t bad either

Not nostalgia. There was a real community here, which was already handicapped a few years ago, until it was finally killed a year or so ago by eliminating all user created content.

The wheel is unusually small and thus low, the dials unusually high. Like you mentioned; it is meant to look at the dials while looking over the wheel.

This 308 design is a far cry from the 406 coupe. I’m not a big fan, although in the current market I do not dislike it either.

The 3008 crossover is obviously less practical and more expensive than the 308 wagon with the same drive train. Still, it does not prevent people from buying the crossover.

This won't be sellable in the EU in any significant numbers, regardless of drive train.

Driving tests only make sense when they test actual driving ability. I guess the problem in the US is that driving tests are a joke.

pricey, generic looking, generically named box of boredom

To be fair, that DKW was a mid sized car for its era and market. Certainly not small and definitely not tiny. The Audi A4 is the direct descendent.

Don’t be so over sensitive. A Fin claiming that the US should ‘surrender’ to Norway is clearly joking.

I’m not much of a camper, but if I understand it correctly these kind of compact campers are typically used in its home continent on camp grounds where they offer dedicated toilets and showers in a building. So the ‘wet bath’ is not used for every single bathroom visit.

I know, which is why I noted I wrote this from a European perspective. It’s one of the reasons we have very few behemoth-sized RVs out here.

There are definitely bigger ones out there, but smaller ones too. Like this one. Or even those with a normal van body.
