Half embraced their new opportunities, the other half could not cope with the change and spent the rest of their lives whining and blaming others.

The Prince engine, that was developed by BMW and Peugeot, has been the least reliable engine Peugeot has used in their own cars for many decades. The Peugeot engines that were replaced by this engine were all trouble free NA engines that lasted multiple hundreds of thousands of miles without serious issues.
In Europe:
Agreed.
FWD too. A normal car with off-road optics and raised ride height.
Even the MK2 had carbs until the mid/late 80s, if I’m not mistaken.
Me too. I don’t mind a usable screen with Android Auto and all the HVAC controls and whatnot with actual knobs and buttons. Other than that, give me something older.
Have you looked at the sales figures in Europe? The Model 3 was the best selling car in 2019 in the Netherlands, for example. Not just best selling EV, it was the best selling car.
As it’s a rental I assume it’s not an old car. Peugeot tends to get positive feedback on its modern interiors. Two things people some people don’t like is the small steering wheel (frequently not properly height adjusted by the driver) and the slow infotainment on certain models. What don’t you like about yours?
And this is precisely why it will not be offered in the US.
No, you’re required to have winter tires when the weather requires it. If there is snow while you have summer tires and you are in a crash, you have a problem. Even if it was not your fault.
Yes, but the BX is a hatchback. ;)
I’m not questioning what you believe you have seen, but as a former owner of a BX I can tell you it is not correct.
Ironic to think that the 50s and 60s were the heyday of american cars, and during that heyday they were looking at a continent that was still licking its (war)wounds. Since the mid 70s, when American cars had become a joke and were not really taken seriously anymore outside of NA. At the same time the Asians and…
I have a similar picture of my then 17 year old Dutch grandmother, with a Canadian liberator. She apparently was benignly teased with this picture for years.
English is not my first language so I’m not familiar with legacy units. I meant 1000 kg. Which is one ton or tonne of whatever. The metric one. 1000 kilos.
The BX in the picture above: 72-ish hp, sunroof and electric windows. BX GTi 16v: 160 hp. That’s more than double. Additionally, they weigh around a tonne. Both of them.
Meh. Breaking down 500 miles from home or 2000 miles from home is quite similarly annoying. Furthermore, the world does not end at a national border.
I know the parts are still available, as I currently own a 1987 Peugeot 205 CTi. But I’m based in Germany and the Netherlands, so when I order parts I have them tomorrow. I was simply curious how much more time it would cost in the US.
