Babyboomers.

I’m sweating as we speak, and I barely wear any clothes and it’s almost 11 pm.

How do your roads cope with frequent freezing?

No. Maybe in the UK. In continental europe, beer is cooled. Obviously.

I thought you said *legit* ST. Those ST badged higher powered but cushy crossovers you mentioned have little to do with legit STs like the Fiesta and Focus.

The 3 wagon is typically about €1500 more expensive than a comparable sedan. It certainly cheaper than a comparable version of the soccermom version of the 3 (X3). That, at least, is true in Europe.

It depends on the country. I used to live in the Netherlands, where ownership tax is based solely on gross weight (and fuel type). My 1500 kg coupe was €75 *a month*. €125 had it been a diesel. My 900 kg car was €20 a month. They also have a CO2 tax on new cars, one that is in the hundreds on something frugal but a V8

The smaller engines you see in Europe are more related to fuel economy than displacement based ownership tax. Many countries don’t have this tax, or have a rather negligible tax, yet smaller engines cars are plentiful.

Peugeot bought Citroën in the 1970s. So more like if the head of design at Buick would be called Chevrolet.

A Focus, even as a hatch, is a lot more expensive than a Cactus though. Larger too.

Given the price the Cactus certainly isn't crappy. It is *very* cheap. A VW of the same price is a lot crappier.

It being a subcompact means it's not that odd that it's not that big inside. It is based on the subcompact Citroen C3.

In that first comment I admitted I don’t understand this vehicle. The concept of a non-fancy yet very pricey minivan seems weird to me. I’m sure kids like it though. How did I insinuate that the kids are wrong?

Make sure it stays below 3.5 tonnes though, otherwise no left lane on the Autobahn for you. You’d be limited to 80 kmh, even when <3.5 tonnes cars have no speed limit at all.

Top Gear is relevant in what way exactly?

Based on the review the non-ST Explorer drives like a boat with zero feedback. Like a faster accelerating minivan.

My caravan?

Quite pricey for a minivan though. And it doesn’t even have sliding doors.

And it isn’t just the sticks. In populated areas the non-car infrastructure in the US is horrible compared to the developed world as well, at least the parts I’m used to. Just compare the subway of Boston to other western non-US cities of a similar size. Or even things like side walks in random cities. For example, I
