What I’d read on facebook was that the jacknife broke the line and left him stranded in the road at the top of the hill. The police asked him if he felt like he could get it down the hill and off the road and he said yes.
I can’t remember the details but reports at the time were either that he stalled it or he didn’t trust his ability to ride across without falling (he was very much an amateur)
Instead of waiting for the rider to get out of the way in a water crossing he decided to push his way through. He pinched the rider between the car and the rider’s bike, bruising the rider and forcing him to drop the bike. The river flooded the bike forcing the rider to retire from the rally
You do know he intentionally ran into a moto rider in 2012, right?
I didn’t say homologation specials were a thing, I said homologation was a thing.
Homologation has changed, but it’s very much still a thing
It passed homologation so I highly doubt it’s traction control
Different car
I thought it was 1-800-GOT-WOOD
Due to regulations they’d still have to crash test every combination, even if they are off the same line. And crash tests can run about $100,000 each.
In NASCAR both racers are surrounded by cages
Nope. Traction control’s illegal in rally. The sound is antilag
Obligatory
Anyone else find it telling that Donny is so outraged by cars built in Mexico but doesn’t seem to give two shits about ones built in Canada?
I may have flipped an actual table when I found out they canceled Uprising
I remember a guy during a desert race (Vegas to Reno) a few years back who crashed in the final 50 miles and punctured his lung. He got back on and finished. I can’t even imagine what being on a bike in that terrain must be like with a punctured lung
