Giorgetto Giugiaro, upon seeing the TR7 in the flesh when it was first unveiled, stood studying the car in profile in quiet puzzlement for some time. He then proceeded around to the other side of the car, and feigning mock horror, exclaimed loudly:

Congratulations, one of the wittiest, warmest, most profound and intelligent comments I read on here in quite the while (my own contributions notwithstanding).

This would be an opportune time for me to ask, what is that model of desk phone you always see on Important People's Desks in the movies? They look geometrically oblong, supported underneath by small feet to lift them to an angle, normally metallic on one vertical half with nice push buttons with lights for the all

@BtheD19: Yeah, I get that from everyone about my car.

@pauljones: I've been reading a little about this IPO across the web over the last 24 hours, and some of the comments I've read on other sites (Financial Times, WSJ, Reuters) have been unbelievably moronic and narrow minded in their reaction to this. And they number in the majority.

@xxjordisxx: Racing those online is probably going to be amongst the most fun things you can do with your clothes on.

@pj134: Justify it in terms of it being a slightly fancier Blu-Ray player. And of course, if you're in the UK it's also the best way to watch BBC iPlayer content on your tv.

Looks like the Prime Minister has his new wheels.

@SantaRita: Don't be ridiculous, this is one of those new inflatable cars.

@tonyola: No, with any luck it runs on the noxious remains of poor people.

@SpainIsInYurp: It was available in various crap-can Fords in Europe throughout the early eighties and nineties as Ford of Europe went over to FWD. You're right, it was an utterly ghastly boat anchor of an engine that was only good at turning petrol into noise and vibration. Fiestas, Escorts and Orions (booted

@ddhboy: Yes there is, but it doesn't operate in every position of the traction brake controller, because the driver cannot constantly hold it down.

@misha trotsky: Driverless systems normally have to be designed from the ground up as such. For the most part, the London Underground track and signalling systems are fixed block that hasn't changed much from when it was built (early part of the twentieth century).

@lilalienpup: I know D's are bigger than C's, because when I bought myself the re-released Big Trak the other day, the girl in the shop sold me C cells, when Big Trak needs 3 D's.

@Dogen: No it's not you, they are licensing their name to any old tat.
