But Drogon also flew in to see Jon mourning Dany’s death. Maybe he thought Jon, the only other person to ride one of Dany’s dragons and the one who was in love with Dany, had wandered in just after the murder and discovered Dany’s body....

Eight seasons in, and he continues to know nothing.

An excellent defense of Jon’s inner dialogue. I am surprised the writers didn’t start having him complain about ulcers a few seasons back....

Loved the reading all the comments for this season and for the whole series. Thanks for all of the entertainment and incite. My two points to add for this episode:

At the beginning of the final episode, Jon confronts Dany about her actions. Dany looks at him and says, “Kit, we had to wrap this up in two episodes. What would you have me do?” She then turns to the camera, winks, and takes a long chug from a Starbucks cup.

An alternative storyline for King’s Landing’s destruction by Dany (in this episode or the next) that may have been more believable:

Maybe it’s too late after the episode to raise a question, but considering the number of extra people taking refuge in King’s Landing in anticipation of a great battle, who actually has killed more people of Westeros:  Dany or the Night King?

I was thinking something similar, but a little more nihilistic: Dany kills Jon and Tyrion, and then flies up to Winterfell to demand that Sansa bends the knee. She refuses, and Winterfell is destroyed, taking down Sansa, Bran, and Gendry. Arya then jumps out of nowhere, kills Dany. The dragon then kills Arya. The

Maybe, but your reading would be more believable if everything hadn’t been rushed these last two episodes.  Everyone at Winterfell should still be dealing with the new reality that they defeated the Night King, the boogeyman that caused them to build a wall 1000 years ago and establish a whole culture of defending

“They’ve had a co-dependent relationship literally their entire lives, its not going to end that fast or easily.”

Maybe Bran warged into the horse and went looking for Arya...

Before bedding said pirate, I do believe she also drank. And in this episode, after staring out of the balcony window, she did proceed to walk down stairs (it was too noisy, though, to determine if she made a slinkety sound while doing so...).

I felt his advice to Arya was even more resonant considering how inconsequential Cleganebowl was. Cersei was not going to make it out of that castle alive. Heck, even the Hound didn’t feel the need to take the one extra slash he could have used to kill her as she walked right by him while the Mountain was still a safe

Does Dany continue her “screw Westeros” campaign and burn down Winterfell since Sansa will not bend the knee?

“So what do you think happens when she goes to a place where the people aren’t singing her praises, where her subjects continually fail her, where the people who are supposed to be on her side are plotting against her, she finds out she doesn’t actually have the right to the throne, and her closest friend is

I don’t have great answers, but here are my rationalizations:

The Dothraki hadn’t crossed the sea, any sea. They did for me.”

When she told Jaime that he couldn’t save Cersei, I totally expected Jaime to turn to her and say, “I don’t intend to save her...”

Yes! Since Euron was able to get the drop on them to begin with, we know that the cliffs kept the ships out of the eyeline of Dany and the dragons. Why couldn’t she just swing back around over the land by the castle (flying low so they can’t see her, even though they may hear the wings flapping) and then come out from

You are assuming that Bronn went into that room needing a good promise in order to avoid killing Jaime and Tyrion. My reading of the scene is that he never intended to kill them, but he was (1) letting them know that Cersei was already attempting to have them killed (letting Jaime know where he stands with her) and
