Hit 205 last week in mine and still don’t know what I’m going to replace it with! 06 and no STi swap but going strong. And my real name starts with Z, though I don’t have one in my screen name...

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think either is quite in production yet? (US based, maybe available in EU?) I know planned to be in production very soon, but am not aware of any cars that can be bought at the moment that have it.
Also, I’m tired of this every concept car being autonomous bullshit, because of course it is! It’s just a concept, it doesn’t have to work, so might as well say it’s autonomous. Companies are literally afraid to say they’re not working on it because FUTURE.
Re. Wireless charging, it’s essentially the same concept as wireless phone charging. There’s a “pad” that gets embedded in the ground or a mat that just gets set in your garage, then there’s another coil attached to the car, seen here in the technical bits graphic:
The hatchback looked nicer... just give it the sport powertrain as well and let us choose.
Go test drive a Bolt, it’s quick, but just doesn’t handle as well as the i3 and I can tell you at least part of that is it hunting for grip as you accelerate. Maybe better tires would fix it, maybe not. I’m looking forward to some of the VW stuff which is all supposed to be RWD as well to get more comparison points.
I’ve been casually hunting for a trailer such as that, though probably a 16-18', with brakes, and was admiring it and thinking I should ask if you had any suggestions (also in Detroit metro)... though after reading the shenanigans I’m somewhere between not sure if I even want to ask for advice or knowing that these…
Also, nice wagon!
Does it make you sad enough it makes you Saab?
And if they can wait a year, there’s a brand new one coming which will almost certainly be updated to the “quirky” styling of the new Prius, which sort of seems for some reason like it may be a positive in this buyer’s eyes...
Sure, there are practical limits to putting energy back into the batteries, but it’s pretty easy to replicate a 1.5 or 2g deceleration and make it reasonable. See the i3 or Bolt for how it can bring the car all the way to a stop. That being said, FMVSS still requires friction brakes, so they can’t be done away with at…
You need both the torque and peak power specs (and the associated speeds) to map out how “good” a motor is. Motors certainly can make a constant horsepower over their whole region, but it’d be because you’re delivering less than peak power. Check out a power curve for a motor and you’ll find that it ramps up power…
If you’re gonna spend money on an SVT, go get this one:
Chevys’ll be aluminum in a year or two anyway... resistance is futile!
Pretty much:
2-4 kW constant draw, so yes in the course of an hour.
Just want to comment on how strange it is to see it referred to as a “California stop” as I was always taught that it is a “California roll”... which is much more fun to say!
D’oh. 94W. I’m definitely going East in the mornings...
Takes me an hour to get to work in MI and I’m 52 miles each way! One of my favorite things about moving from CA, same amount of time but 4 or 5 times the distance traveled makes it feel so much better.
Westbound right past Inkster there? It slows down during commute time (I’m through there usually about 7:30-7:45a) but I’ve never found it to be necessarily a problem... am I crazy? I do get off onto Southfield N most days, though.
