Sorry, but this is only one definition of the word, and it's a fairly modern one at that.

People forget that ham radio operators were the ur-geeks of mid-century America, as were those who couldn't get enough of MAD and knew how to solve the fold-in without creasing the back cover.

Starting in Australia in Risk is a great plan if you're playing a computer or three year old.

I declare this quiz bogus. I got a low score, and I and my kind invented geekdom in the '50s. Bogus. 66-Out.

Please stop confusing real geeks with modern geek-wannabe hipsters.

Trick question. There were two Stargates on Earth, but one of them blew up in Redemption (Episode 602). Anubis used an ancient weapon to beam energy into the stargate, turning it into a bomb. Jack flies it into space lashed to an X-302, drops it into a hyperspace portal and punches out at the last second. The gate

A true geek would never have an iPhone in the first place

Word. If someone thinks they're a geek, they're a geek. There's no entry exams required.

Fookin' A. Plus, aside from a couple cross-generational items, virtually all of this stuff is aimed at people 30 and under. And apparently none of them read.

That's a stupid list. I've never seen Neon Genessee Cream Ale or whatever the hell it is, because I'm old. But as a movie geek, there's almost nothing there. How many books are on that list? How many board games?

Goddamnit not this "you should know X to prove your geekery" shit again.

This just in, not all geeks are geeks about EVERYTHING. Some geeks have specialized interests. Some geeks simply don't like a specific franchise/media. What makes someone a geek in one person's eyes might be completely different than what

Can't a program just be "complete?"

Also, some apps that you might think are dead really aren't. Root Explorer (Android) went a very long time without updates, but then the developer started working on it again. I've seen with with other apps, too (Moon+, Apex, etc.)

Interesting group of tips. I'd love to find a tip on how to force FB to always sort your news feed by Most Recent and not "Top Stories" (the quotes are purposeful). Also would love to find a tip on how to keep FB from announcing in the news feed when you've commented on a post from a page you've "Liked"

Wow ... I had no idea that facebook had all these options. I look forward to diving into this article at leisure and really soaking in these techniques - especially around eliminating the distractions.

"Don't break the chain" is good advice in many cases, but sometimes you have to let it go. Every year, schools recognize kids who had perfect attendance records, either for the year or for their entire 12-year primary and secondary education. That's great and all, but am I really supposed to believe that they never

I'll never forget the day I bought V7s realized they weren't V5s and realized I actually cared about that fact.

I have to use pens for my work. Personally I prefer using a quality pen, but one that it doesn't hurt me too bad if it breaks or gets lost. I go between the Pilot G2 (Extra Fine), Uniball Vision Micro (finest tip I can find), and the new Sharpie pens. The Sharpie pens are excellent, but they don't last long enough.
