Agreed that the film had bit too upbeat of an ending. Rhodey being seriously injured, or even dead, may have made a more powerful final act and ending.

Both villain plans in BvS and Civil War rely on implausible turn of events that said villains would have no way of foreseeing.

You forgot that Tyrion mentioned about Varys having no balls. This is A mandated joke for every Varys appearance because we, the audience, must know that Varys indeed has no balls. None at all.

IW was more of an event than a movie.

I found Ultron’s pathos much more engaging than Thanos. But Thanos was presented as the bigger threat. The biggest mistake of AoU, was not presenting dire enough stakes. Which is weird since the world was in danger, but you never really felt like the plan was gonna succeed.

I know Whedon’s star has fallen, but dammit he was one of the most cinematic directors in the Marvel pantheon. The Russo’s are great with story and character beats, but they have no visual flare and the action has had diminishing returns since W.S.

He remains the most disappointing adapted character.
