I remember discovering a few secrets so incredibly obscure that even Nintendo Power didn't know about them.

I had this as an answering machine message for a while, with me singing along: "Hi! I am, not here, to, take, your call, right now. Leave your number and I'll call. You. Back."

I found it amusing, if only for finding out that in a song that's supposed to be about how fun sleighing allegedly is, half the verses are actually about the protagonist falling on his ass.

It's not made clear, is it? My assumption is that the first time around, the Doctor did things slightly differently, in such a way that he had time to leave clues around for his future selves.

Presumably, the Doctor goes nude after he hangs his clothes up to try, the first time around.

I've noticed that too. Given that he also added the curly hair this season, I don't think it's an accident, either.

Because the new iterations don't carry the memories of the previous ones. The Doctor never fully realizes what's going on until he's in the diamond room. At the time he has the shovel, he's always still figuring it out.

Rose generally wasn't written well, as a rule.

Yeah, and the evil wife-beater guy keeps screaming "I. AM. TALKING!!!" because whatever BS he's pissed off about is obviously more important than saving the Earth (or at least the UK) from destruction.

Idiot's Lantern… is that the one with that guy who keeps screaming "I, Am, TALKING!!!!" in it? Yeah, that episode was aptly named.

Since when is using Wikipedia as a source any better than using Encarta?

It sure did. It also had a season-long myth arc revolving around the organization that they inadvertently created by pissing off Queen Victoria with their childish antics.

Well, Pavel Chekov would have found a way to toss something in about how the phaser on the wall was inwented in Russia.

"Sleep No More" was this season's worst episode, no doubt, but even that reflects on the quality of this season. It's disappointing after the extremely strong episodes that preceded it, and the sandman thing was a bit stupid, but it's still not just plain bad in the way that, say, "Robots of Sherwood" or "The Rings of

Christmas 2005 was right before Tennant's first season, right? I'd hardly call that season improved in any way. That season almost made me stop watching the show.

While that may be true in real life, in a fictional dramatic work it's pretty odd to introduce a plot thread like that and then just leave it. We'll see how things go, I guess, but let's just say I won't be surprised if there's some further plot-twistiness to come on this point.

Agreed about Season 7, which was on the whole quite dull, but Season 8 was noticeably better, and I'm loving Season 9 so far. It feels like Moffat had run out of things to do with the Eleventh Doctor, but I don't get the calls for him to leave while he's in the middle of the (IMO) winning streak he's currently in.

This show scares me. I don't think I'll watch it.

I must have called them a few gazillion times asking if there was any way to change Super Mario World back to the normal theme after unlocking the "Halloween" theme and deciding that it was weird and I didn't like it. I must have made a few of them really hate life, because I remember one of them eventually giving up

Wow, different opinions, I guess. To me, the show's been completely on fire this season. Loving it.
