The bigger disappointments are the ones we could have seen, but did not. For me, I turned down a Joe Strummer show a year or two before his death.

FFVI is a magical, wonderful game—and that you are doing it without a guide is absolutely the way to go. I envy you in that way!

Your metaphor game is ON POINT. (not sarcastic.)

Maybe you should meet people before deciding what they are like, much less guessing what their self-image is.

My niblings (aged 4-6) watch a ton of youtube videos and, as play, as my sister to take videos of them. At the end of the videos, the youngest one will say "click like and subscribe." This is seriously where culture is going, and I don't think that has sunken in for us lawn-yellers.

Hell yeah, especially on the Weavers. So good.

Yeah, that's cringeworthy. Especially where "see" and "you" are so easy to type, there's really no excuse. Hard to cast judgment on one sort of text-slang while using another, but somehow there's a measure of bad taste in "c u there" that you don't have in "LMAO."

Did you make that up? That's good!

Isn't it so L337 how that happens?

For me, it was the realization that I was typing "haha" when I hadn't actually laughed—which immediately felt disingenuous. I reserve LOL for literal application.

It's one of those internet slangs that is probably outdated now and I always thought was dumb. But here I am, using it (I literally just started using LOL this year, as I always found it too insufferable, but then realized that just typing "haha" usually isn't an indicator of actual out-loud laughter).

Your mileage may vary

I suppose YMMV, but I love it. It's Tina Fey, so if you liked 30 Rock, you'll like it.

It is terrific—it carries on 30 Rock's gonzo, joke-a-second tone (and its wonderful score, if that matters to you), but with a conceit that is so dark that is is astounding it is so constantly funny. Maybe my favorite comedy in years.

I'm going to see Garfunkel tomorrow!

It's important to remember that what those bigger things that Walsh and Pohler did, were through a hole in a sheet.

Came here to say just that

I am on season 3 of my first rewatch. It is a goddamn beautiful, perfect show. I feel like its greatness (apparent from episode 1) is not yet recognized.

I'll fight you. RTJ 3 is a masterpiece.

Please, let's
