@OMGItsWeasel as a senior graduating this Spring in political science, I cannot applaud you enough for what you said. People ask me all the time why our government doesn't function (and lately, of course, about SOPA/PIPA) and I respond in the same manner you did- because people are apathetic.

WikiLeaks needs to find and release some damning things on the entertainment industry regarding PIPA/SOPA, as well as those who support it. Demonstrate that they've broken laws in making this happen and you have an argument more bulletproof than anything the public could do through protests and simple disagreement.

True, people make mistakes all the time. But for members of Congress, who get paid so much to be at work so few days of the year, I would expect them to actually read legislation and seek an in-depth understanding of it before they throw their support behind them.

Although I'm glad to see that he retreated, I wouldn't exactly call this having a "staunch backbone".

Preaching to the choir? Really?

I'm speechless. Literally.

Everyone's got their panties in a bunch over gas caps. That's not the point he's making here, people.

Bravo, Wikipedia. I use Wikipedia every day in class to keep myself awake, entertained, and following what some professors are talking about (there's a big difference between a professor and a true, talented educator). If it increases awareness and action against SOPA/PIPA, then a blackout for a day is a small price

I've gotta say, I'm extremely pleased and impressed with Google's recent rollout of security features for their accounts. The Google Authenticator app was great, and now this just takes that idea one step further.

Amen and amen.

I don't realize what all the fuss is about. When I first saw it pop up at the top of my Google page saying "try it out now", I just clicked the X.

No doubt! I'm just speaking from face-to-face experience for anyone that wants to ask a friend for an invite.

I'm quite surprised it took this long for LifeHacker to write anything about pinterest- I've known about it for months, and the standard guy reaction whenever girls mention it is rolling their eyes (since it's generally seen as something only girls use, at least here at college).

A ferret? Really?

Now playing

It's times like these that I wonder if the Mayans were onto something. I think I'm starting to see it too.

Yeah, I knew our asteroid belt is nothing close to as dense as we often imagine it to be (or other asteroid belts, like in Star Wars). But being able to walk around in an exhibit like that would definitely add a sense of perspective since instead of just watching a "what-if" on a screen, you could actually walk around

This kind of thing should be used to make a planetarium exhibit- a walkable mini-model of a part of the asteroid belt.

Seeing the title of this story made me go "oooooh" for the first time ever at an internet article.
