I actually was a physics major for two years, but calculus convinced me to shift my focus. Besides that, my advisor was not studying black holes, he was studying sand, so I probably would have ended up with an ironic thesis related to WHY sand is irritating and gets everywhere.

I have some friends who auditioned for the show and from what I remember they said that the audience was really into their act but the producers actively encouraged the judges to be highly critical of them because their performance was a bit weird and they were not at all happy with the whole process in general.
