Let’s hope this “open and transparent” contest doesn’t go like the last one, where the parameters were jigged so that the F-35 emerged as the best fighter.

While I’m sure those caves and missiles are real, Iran has a credibility problem. So I can’t help but think that’s a painted backdrop, and those mobile launchers are made of plywood.
“Please take on this bully, America,” say the regions’ states. “Will you help?” America asks. “Um, no, we have a, erm, trade conference to attend that day”.

Why do I get the feeling that one day soon we’ll see a headline like:
Russians have long believed bigger is better in guns. The artillery is seen as the senior service. Not surprised they’d choose to put a cannon on a fighter. Worked for the Germans, after all (the Me109).
Putin clearly isn’t looking to pick an aerial dogfight with western fighters, so to send more F-22s seems a needless escalation to me.
