Here’s what I am imagining happened: Kid is exhibiting symptoms of PTSD. They might be screaming, crying, thrashing, noncompliant, etc. Because of the immense amount of trauma inflicted during the separation & detainment process. So to calm them down they think “oh, hey, let’s pump these kids full of sedatives!”

The same thing happens with entirely arbitrary “dress codes” at bars/clubs that are either clearly aimed at black people (no baggy clothes, stuff of that ilk while white bros wearing flip flops and tank tops are totally fine), or are enforced only for black people.

There are white patrons who have posted on facebook about the situation that stated they had never been asked to open a tab at Tomfooleries.

Yeah, I see transphobia as a flaw. You can tell your story without it, and it doesn’t make you look particularly good. The lawyer being trans or what they’re wearing or whether they “pass” is immaterial. And purposely misgendering is a REALLY bad look.

This view frustrates me the most. The non-profit sector in the US works synergistically with the government. The majority of funding for non profits comes from government grants...which are paid for with tax dollars. If that funding dried up what little support non profits can offer at this point would evaporate.…

Interestingly enough, I agree. The community of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA should come together to support its citizens by providing healthcare, childcare, great education, etc etc

I’ve met very few men who proudly proclaim to everyone that will listen that they’re a feminist, who aren’t actually trash. Hell, my rapist claimed to be feminist. I don’t trust them one bit.
