Yes! Exactly! Also, lot of people don't know that there are tons of rescue organizations for specific breeds. Shelters may also keep a list of people who are looking for specific breeds/mixes and will call down the list when that breed is available for adoption. There are so many other options than breeders!

You have to wait until you're 16 to drive a vehicle and you can't even start killing yourself with smokes until 18. But shooting guns? Whenever, whatever.

That's a good point! Of course there are exceptions, but for people who are looking for a pet based on superficial specifications, breeding isn't very cool.

It's my opinion that animal breeders are unethical, yes. IVF and animal breeding are not the same thing. Period.

Breeders are kind of always unethical when there are so many animals that are sitting in shelters.

I'm going to be that person, but I think all breeders are reprehensible, as are their customers. There are TONS and TONS of perfectly okay cats awaiting homes in shelters all over the world. There is are no good reasons to buy an animal from a breeder, ever. Gah.
