BEYOND the first year?!?! The biggest third party title it can lay claim to is something that originally released on the god damned PS3. This thing will shit the bed out of the gate in terms of third party support and leave a big brown trail behind it for the entirety of it’s, hopefully, brief time in the marketplace.

So, here we are in 2017 and Nintendo is releasing a home console that can’t even handle a 32gb game. My fucking keychain has more memory that this piece of shit.

I agree, the fact that The Switch doesn’t appeal to me is in fact not an indicator that it’s doomed to failure. However, historical trends on the other hand are a different matter all together and they say that Nintendo has an uphill battle ahead of them.

Sure people wanted to own the Wii, the wrong kind of people though. The Wii was a fad that caught on and, as I said in my last post, was successful for all the wrong reasons. Those 110 million people were nowhere to be found when it came time for the Wii U.

Well you figure that the SNES was released in 1990 and the SNES was the last Nintendo home console that wasn’t a “Nintendo Box” in that it was a console that had robust third party support and reasons to own it that went beyond playing Nintendo developed games.

As someone who loves Nintendo games I can’t stress how badly I want The Switch to fail and fail hard. The worst part about Nintendo games is that you have to play them on Nintendo consoles and Nintendo consoles have been total rubbish for going on a quarter of a century. Sadly I think that Nintendo is fighting the inevitable and will sooner or later (hopefully sooner) be going the route of Sega. Clearly, as shown by many of their decisions with this new console, they are painfully behind the times when it comes to hardware and online functionality.
