The payoff was to give the relatively realistic Nick and Reagan storyline an unnecessary Jess twist. I saw it coming the moment Jess appeared unannounced in her room. The whole thing didn't work for me either.

This was a great episode and closes the Reagan arc well. I will be honest, for someone who wanted Nick and Reagan to hook-up, the moment Jess appeared, I thought 'No'. Reagan is a great balancing act for the entire cast and the show was better for it. At least I think so. Maybe we will see her in the near future.
