It probably isn’t affecting viewer counts as much as you think. Check out the number of hosts that AGDQ is getting—the toxic viewers are just finding large and popular channels that are hosting the event and being little jackasses there instead.

I don’t necessarily believe there’s that much overlap between the people spamming whatever in Twitch chat and donations. Last year they had a semi-reasonable Twitch bits goal to reach for a donation incentive, and they barely got halfway through the total.

That’s my favorite thing about the gaming community. Maybe it’s not the majority who knows, but the loudest and most obnoxious bunch of them take “Freedom” as an excuse to be awful and then get upset when people are like “no thanks.”

It also makes sense why plenty of the gaming community is apart of the “anit-pc sjw”…
