Their comedy’s such shit because they punch down, worship authority, and don’t understand irony.

I assumed it was a joke because surely no one is actually that stupid. But then I remembered, Trump voters.
You are a racist, anti-Semitic fool. You...you do understand that Ajit Pai’s boss, and the elements he’s inspired, are actually *sympathetic* to your position, right? But you’re so stubbornly determined to see a vast Jewish conspiracy everywhere that you attribute to it even actions of the Trump administration!
Please don’t bash dad-humour. That’s timeless and golden compared to what Pai was attempting. Not all of us are conservadads.
Ever wonder why there is no conservative daily show or Colbert reports? It’s because they aren’t funny and like you said it’s like watching an alien culture. Comedy usually comes from half truths and recent conservatism isn’t known for well.. any truth, mostly just oppressive lies.
What you’ll notice with conservative comedy is that frequently, all it is is punching downward, and then laughing at the plight of the victim. That’s whats happening here. Pai is punching down at everyone who isn’t a giant telco, and when we complain, that’s his punchline.
They punch down, and then get all “OH, so it’s okay when a [insert minority group here] says it?!” when people respond with exhausted sighs instead of belly-laughter.
That’s because the jokes aren’t inspired by the need to communicate and connect, like those of actual good comedians. They’re inspired by the need to troll their imagined enemies.
It’s always interesting to watch conservatives attempt humor. The references are almost always hilariously out of date, the attempts at self-deprecation are usually painfully forced, and it comes across like they decided to improv the first take and then felt it was comedy gold that couldn’t be topped. It’s like…
I have no regrets.
“ even though no one remembers a damn thing about it other than there were dinosaurs and people running from those dinosaurs, and that one of them was Bryce Dallas Howard in high heels.”
Yeah, either the director or one of the writers obviously had issues with their british nanny in their youth :/
“no one remembers a damn thing about it other than there were dinosaurs and people running from those dinosaurs, and that one of them was Bryce Dallas Howard in high heels. You may also recall some sort of scene where Chris Pratt leads a velociraptor motorcycle gang that you possibly hallucinated.”
Probably trying to stop President Pence from enacting Christian Sharia law. Just a guess.
Fifty-three percent of elligible white women in the U.S. who voted, voted for Donald Trump in 2016.
This is true, and while those who didn’t vote didn’t vote for Trump, they should still be ashamed.
But Jesus was still white, right?
I tried to watch the women’s rights or Islam video but I just couldn’t finish it even though I have a high tolerance for bullshit.. The fact that she and members of her audience actually think that she is making any sense these statements is ridiculous and disheartening. She sounds like a fool, but as long as she…
You’re being facetious. Clearly the Western values they’re referring to are the Christian values which... which originated in the...
Great White North’s Southern mourns lost of best “Western” standards.
