The AV Club boycott was covered on Slate. Just sayin’.

Ugh.
Aww, whatzamatter widdle fella? Did they ban you over at the Avocado?
The plaintiff dropped the 2014 lawsuit after his attorney fired him. It’s super fishy.
There’s no option, it just happens inexplicably
You know, it’s hilarious that your name is what it is and that basically your every comment is insulting someone’s intellect and/or character or whatever else.
Hey, editors and moderators, can you ban this person? They’re the definition of a troll. Only goes around and insults people. I normally dismiss their comments on my own (yay for censorship!), but I’d rather leave it up now for posterity and proof.
Sooooo, where’s all the commenters who said that this was a useless gesture?
Reading comprehension is useful. The comment was about the unity of many media organizations, not just AV Club.
Drawing attention to the issue is what made Disney back off, ya dingus.
The AV Club has become more powerful than you can imagine
So... we’re back on for a Pirates of the Caribbean sweep of the Oscars?
Not because of the AV Club solely, but because they along with the Washington Post as well as film critic circles and other news outlets and journalists all together sent a boycotting message.
Individually we are weak, like a single twig. But as a bundle, we form a mighty faggot.
Sooooo, where’s all the commenters who said that this was a useless gesture? That DIsney would never submit? That the AV Club was doing something futile? All the naysayers and cynics who said that you might as well do nothing since that’s what “solidarity” gestures do? Weird how when disparate groups unionize they’re…
Disney, meet Streisand Effect.
Good. And wow already the kinja-dipshits have arrived bitching about Avclub trying to do the right thing, like omg so lame I kno. Fuck off dipshits, if places like the AVClub hadn’t done anything you would’ve been whiny dipshits like you already are.
Disney has really been throwing its weight around a lot lately. While Disney corporate probably doesn’t care that much about the awards, some people they might want to work with probably do, and that’s where this could possibly get them to relent.
So frustrating. The hierarchy has always been, men > boys > girls > women
Oh, I suppose that is perspective. I kind of like the tease. Like oh wow this is in the game! How do I get there for real. I would be pumped.
But I get how that might not be for everyone.
I actually really miss that, and shout it myself about half the time
