The Corvettes from the 80's wouldn't be what I'd call advanced. C5 Vettes and up, absolutely. People think Corvettes are ass backwards, with push rods and leaf springs, but there's perfectly good reasons why GM stuck with them.

Saturn made economical cars, at a cheap price. They did have their performance cars, like the Skyline and the ION. For the most part, these cars were like GM's European cars being brought into the states. Like Opel/Vauxhall for example.
