Watch out for bridges and hop-ons.  You’re gonna get hop-ons.

I get what you mean. I’m not a huge SNL fan, but I remember watching the show when I was a kid and being bored with Forbes’ hosting gig, so I remembered that one, and he met the criteria (not an actor, musician, comic, or elected politician). I started to to look through the Wikipedia list of SNL hosts, but it listed

Steve Forbes hosted back in the ‘90s.  I think a few other “alternative candidates” who never held office (I think Ralph Nader may have made an appearance?) did as well, but it’s certainly rare for a non-entertainer to land the gig.

Cheers!

I drink very little — so little that some would classify me as a “non-drinker” (you could count the number of alcoholic drinks I have in a year on one hand). And last year I drank even less than usual because almost all of my drinking is done when I’m with friends and family (and, well, there were few opportunities

I’m not sure how to feel about this.

I’ve noticed this kind of negativity a lot lately when I don’t even think the intent is to be negative. The use of “you forgot...” or “fixed that for you” or even just starting a response with “no” when rephrasing something someone else said in a funny way — it’s a downer and, as you said, it’s impolite.

There are a lot of stories here about gourmet meals in premium classes, and while I’ve had my share of those, I am a simple man with simple tastes. The best thing I’ve ever eaten on an airplane was a burger.

Look, if we’re going to get to flying cars, we gotta take baby steps to get there!

Just turn it sideways instead. It’ll have the bonus benefit of helping to maintain appropriate physical distancing from other cars.

That is an excellent explanation and an angle that I just haven’t considered. Thanks!

If administered on someone who has received the vaccine, would one of these tests give a positive result? What about an antibody test?

Sometimes, just pausing a moment to think critically can save you. In this case, would WhatsApp really release a separate app that’s a color-clone of their original app? Wouldn’t they just add that functionality into the app directly?

The seller claims the car to be a rare mix of color and options, saying that it is one of perhaps 400 so built.

I get embarrassed every time I fall for it. Controversy attracts attention, and attention gets eyeballs on ads, so I understand why it’s done. Still, I feel like I’ve gotten played every time I click through on something like this.

It’s really hard to predict what the future will hold with any certainty. One measure of when we may return to “normalcy” is when the COVID death rate drops to an acceptable level. It’s impossible for it to get to zero, but if it can at least get down to a level close to other diseases that we generally agree are an

Sadly, Uber has a 15 year age limit on its cars... which is a shame because I’d greatly prefer getting picked up at the airport by this than the gray Prius that I usually get stuck with.

Conky would never fight anyone; it’s not in his nature.
