Your dad sounds like an entertaining fellow.

A very talented woodworker was injured in a freak accident, tragically causing him to lose his eye. Unsatisfied with all of the glass options presented to him, he decided to carve a replacement himself out of wood.
It helps to come with a proposed solution. Instead of just saying: “I’m bored and don’t have anything to do”, find something that needs to be done (maybe one of your boss’ tasks; maybe a task that’s the responsibility of a coworker that isn’t getting the necessary attention) and ask if you can take it over. Hardly…
I don’t know how to identify cars in costumes, so I’m just going to play the odds and guess Jeep since this is a David Tracy article.
I hope this article gets cross-posted over to Jalopnik because I am eager to get the automotive enthusiast take on the pumpkin bucket car and hear about how it might stack up against similar novelty vehicles like the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
If the show were being filmed in a sports stadium or arena it’d be a near certainly. There’s a law on the books that Seven Nation Army must be played at least once daily in those venues. MetLife Stadium got fined pretty hard for attempting to skip it during a Giants game once, I think.
I was hoping to see the episode of Cheers on this list where the gang attempted to prank Gary’s Old Town Tavern using a giant hologram, ultimately flipping the prank on Sam... I think...I don’t really remember the details as it’s been a long while since I’ve seen the show. I just remember my parents watching it on TV…
I was quite proud of myself for being able to replace my own lightswitch, but it wasn’t without its challenges.
Tesla’s communications baffle me. They have a whole PR department (or, at least, they did — according to another comment it’s apparently been dissolved) that doesn’t respond to emails from journalists, which you’d think would be one of their primary responsibilities... and at the same time, their CEO will go out of…
Back in March of this year when it was hard to secure an Instacart delivery spot and inventory in grocery stores was spotty at best, I did some pantry/freezer spelunking and prepared some food that I’d had around for a long while. One item was a mystery frozen dish. It had come from a multi-pack at Costco, and it was…
I have a theory that Top Gun is less an action movie and more just a great big flamboyant musical with jets. In addition to Great Balls of Fire, there’s also the scene where all the sailors break into song in the bar to You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling and the other one where they oil themselves up and play volleyball…
I’d actually use it to actually look up words.
I don’t have any “smart” (WiFi connected) cooking appliances. I suppose my smartest cooking appliance is my toaster oven, which has many different preprogrammed settings, but they’re all just presets that are controlled on its own control panel — it doesn’t connect to the internet.
That radiator mishap sounds incredibly painful. Bet you’ll be sure to wear a shirt while wrenching from now on.
Oh, good catch there on the fractional ownership. That explains some of those outliers.
That’s where my mind went as well. Don’t performance statistics for all cars get better with each new iteration (with the exception of that period in the ‘70s when carmakers couldn’t keep up with new regulations and started churning out 7 liter engines that put out 25 horsepower)?
