You're right. We've retained friends and followers lists. The first iteration of Kinja doesn't include much functionality on this front, but we're working on this. Ideally, everyone will be able to see their friends' posts more readily.

As in real life, a series of jokes is as valid a conversation as any other. We're not trying to encourage overwrought exchanges ("Why yes, REV, I see your point and might I add..."). Just recognize that you guys are chatting with one another, and it should work the way you'd like.

That's a fair observation, but we're aiming for more conversation. Since the system works in a different way, it'll take some getting used to. You can get what you want out of it.
