You don't even have to get an expensive fancy one (although those are great, too!) I got some cheapo small footprint $20-30 Aroma model on Amazon prime one day and have been completely satisfied. Makes great rice, quinoa, couscous, etc...but you can also steam meats or veggies, or even make easy quick one pot recipes…
The cheap black and decker is a surprisingly good investment, mine has lasted almost 10 years and I use it 1-2 times a week. You can steam veggies in it, too, and cook a surprising amount of other things. Just google "rice cooker recipes".
Mine's a Hamilton Beach model, was around $15 in 1999, and still kickin'.
It's my longest used and most used appliance. I've had the same one for, oh, 15 years now, and it gets weekly use. Best kitchen gift I ever received. Thanks, mom and dad!
Do you think any old rice cooker could handle this? Because Amazon has 'em starting at like $13 new, but that's for what looks like a very basic Black and Decker.
I love my rice cooker. I don't think you'll be sorry if you get one (especially since you've been waiting for your pancake cake for so long).
I would buy a rice cooker just to make this, no joke. It's the breakfast I've been waiting for my whole life.
