Women like this don't put out because it would mean they'd have to stop fiddling with their phones for a while.

Eh, I dig Ace's solo album in spite of the doofy lyrics. They can be a fatal flaw in some instances, but not here. Perhaps because nostalgia is one hell of a dangerous drug…

Poe's Law in full effect. That sign and statement look like pure parody. Or, is it really some sort of Breitbart jape?

The ALF cartoon wasn't too bad, IIRC. I thought the live action show sucked and the cartoon seemed wittier. Haven't seen it since I was a teen though.

There's a pretty big difference between the first two seasons and the rest, though. Maybe the Adult You saw one of the crap-era episodes.

IIRC this was addressed in the cartoon, which existed in the same universe as the movies. I seem to recall an ep where the cartoon Ghostbusters were watching the movie based on their exploits and complaining about how the actors didn't look anything like them.

This meddling was also responsible for the animation problems the article notes - starting at about the same time the animation was outsourced to a cheaper studio and that's when the problems with scale, appearance, and stiffness started in earnest.

"Cultural appropriation" is a BS term when applied to art, which has always involved exchange, appropriation, and reinterpretation. As the term is currently used, it's just about giving SJWs something to bitch about.

If they'd put some effort into those shows though, it could've made a big difference. I mean, there are plenty of examples out there of opening bands turning an indifferent audience around, and having word of mouth build from there.

Bowie was using a lightning bolt insignia for Ziggy Stardust - it was often used as a backdrop on stage. It looked like a red-on-white version of my avatar.

That's what I understood as well, that she had a backroom job and never worked with the public. She was never a struggling cashier or anything.

Forget you man, "Sex Type Thing" is actually pretty excellent. Few hard rock tracks are so effectively piledriving.

Like you actually have a job, beta boy

The thing about oral histories is, the writer has to be a very good interviewer who knows what questions to ask and is able to go in depth with enough people to get sufficient quotes to craft into a compelling and interesting narrative. That's the value of a book like "Please Kill Me" or MacNeil's other book on the

I suspect Cecily Strong wasn't included with the Weekend Update anchor team because she (a) was barely there, and (b) stunk in the role.

All she has going for her is her "sexiness". Those of us who aren't co-president of the Charlie XCX Fan Club can see that.

That had better be one hell of a potato salad.

You're sure right about that "law of conservation of characters" - as soon as we learned a bit about Guy's family background, I correctly guessed what his secret motivation was.

Agreed - Get Fuzzy seems like it's trying too hard to be quirky.

I think that the second-last paragraph is on the ball - Shia LaBoeuf is essentially the movie equivalent of fake writer JT LeRoy, and is some sort of Tootsie-esque performance art project.
