Respectfully disagree - yes the conservative agenda is awful, but at least it’s an agenda. It’s pretty clear that the Tim Millers of the world created Trump using a toxic soup of misinformation, fear, and hate, but it seems to me that this was all a byproduct of their real goal - to quietly cut the social safety net…

No, the idea is that Trump is full of shit and will say anything to get elected. Trump isn’t principled which is a word in the phrase “principled conservative.” Principled conservatives change views at about the speed of a glacier.

This is a weak take of a far better and more interesting piece of writing.

If you can’t understand there is a difference between Republicans and Conservatives, you probably shouldn’t write about politics.
